HEY!
My name is Rinn Wight (she/her), and I am an illustrator, designer, and educator born and raised on Long Island, New York. I hold an AOS in graphic design, a BFA in illustration from Pratt Institute, and an MFA in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
When I’m not freelancing, I’m working on my own music-inspired series, thrashing in a pit at a local show, or chilling with my fluff ball of a dog, Klaus, on the front stoop of my Brooklyn apartment.
I am currently looking for work primarily in the music and entertainment industry. Growing up, Long Island's angsty music scene profoundly influenced my creative journey. There isn’t a show I go to where I don’t bring home a piece of merch. I view the visual design associated with music as more than just aesthetics; it’s a vital part of the storytelling process, enhancing the overall experience for fans and creators alike.
That connection inspired me to write a qualifying paper titled Illustrators on the Record: The Evolution of Illustration in Emo Music from Punk (1979-2020), discussing illustrators and designers working with musicians and their creative process.
