John W Engeman Theater

The John W. Engeman Theater is a premier year-round professional live theater, working with actors from the Broadway stage, around the world, and local talent. It opened its doors in 2007 and has produced 99 Main Stage Productions of some of Broadway’s finest musicals and plays. I have personally held several positions at this establishment, starting off as a volunteer usher and working my way up to their in-house designer.

Front of house

From curb to curtain, I truly have done it all within my 12 years working at the John W Engeman Theater. I’ve played the Usher, Valet, Cocktail Waitress, Bartender, and even had a small feature on the stage. The theater is where I first learned my love of showbiz at a young age, and I made sure to be in the spotlight regardless of the role. Whether it was ushering patrons to their seats or serving them their favorite cocktail, I made sure our clientele had the best night.

In-House Photographer

One of my many roles at this theater was being their on-site photographer. During dress rehearsals and events like opening/closing nights and fundraisers, I would bounce between the bar and the stage to snap photos of the cast, crew, and patrons.

In-House Designer

From behind the bar to behind a desk, I was in charge of the in-house designs for each unique show on stage. These projects were mainly tableside-ready, with specialty cocktail menus designed for each show. Every design was inspired by the show’s music, story, and color palette. Not only did I get to design the menus themselves, but I also got to create the signature cocktails.
